The Community Theatre Foundation. We're working every day to live up to our name — the name that has graced our theater for more than eight decades. While every effort of the Community Theatre Foundation is directed toward fulfilling our mission, the Foundation could achieve nothing without the enthusiasm and generosity of our neighbors who lend support to our work and share equally in our success.
Community WorkAs a catalyst for community inspiration, involvement and support, the Community Theatre Foundation works to support local nonprofit organizations, educational initiatives and cultural programs in our community.
The Community Theatre Foundation was established in part to save, restore and operate the Community Theatre. The Fairfield Historical Society has honored the Community Theatre Foundation for our efforts in saving and restoring the historic landmark theater.
The Community Theatre Foundation strives to create a center of entertainment and art in a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. A great behind-the-scenes effort makes this possible. From negotiating with distributors and vendors to managing operations and concessions. From selling tickets at the box office to serving popcorn at the concession stand. From maintaining the theater's inviting, clean atmosphere to keeping it operational and safe. The dedication of our volunteers and managers are the foundation of our success.
We work to enhance and enrich our community with special programs, festivals and series, while continually striving to create within this Foundation a community-oriented cultural experience to share with our neighbors. These special programs, some of which have generated significant local and national media attention due to their unique offerings, enable us to reach out to our community and welcome more friends and partners to our family.
The Community Theatre Foundation works constantly to develop and discover new programs to enrich our community. We also are honored to consult and advise individuals and groups in other communities that are hoping or striving to create foundations to achieve similar goals with theaters and other landmarks that are threatened with extinction. Finally, we work to ensure the positive character of the Community Theatre — in the films we exhibit, the programs we create, and the partnerships we develop — so that everyone in our community may always be proud of their commitment to and association with the Community Theatre Foundation.
Neither the founder nor the officers of the Foundation receive any compensation for their work.
