Without the commitment and dedication of the young volunteers who offer their time, after school and on weekends, each day and each night, the Community Theatre Foundation simply could not exist.
The Community Theatre volunteers are integral to the success of the Foundation. Their significant contributions of time and effort enable the Foundation to fulfill its mission of ensuring enjoyable and affordable film experiences for our neighbors, while providing financial support to many nonprofit organizations throughout our community.
The volunteers work in all aspects of the theater's operations. They come together and work hard. They welcome you with a smile and wish you good night. They forge lasting friendships and build self-confidence. They create the Community atmosphere that our neighbors enjoy week in and week out.
Volunteer ScholarshipsThe John Petrafesa Sr. Memorial Scholarship provides financial support
for higher education to select Community Theatre Foundation volunteers
each season. Established in March 2002, the scholarship commemorates the
life of Mr. John Petrafesa Sr., a friend of the Community Theatre Foundation
and longtime Fairfield resident who devoted his life to the arts. Mr. Petrafesa
began his career in the theater at the age of 17 and during his lifetime
left his mark on some of the best-known and best-loved Broadway productions
of all time. The Foundation honors his memory
by acknowledging those volunteers who work countless hours behind the scenes
to ensure our success through unwavering commitment, leadership and enthusiasm.
